How is this event healing?
This is a first step. We need to educate the churches, then when they have an understanding, they can reach out to the first nations and let the healing begin. Many churches don't understand about the first nations people so approaching them would be difficult. So, yes a first step of many.
Are you working with First Nations to coordinate this event?
Yes. There are First Nations individuals at every step of this event, except for when this event was initiated (Esther Yuen and Esther Kong initiated this). We would not have started or continued on without the blessing of our First Nations brothers and sisters.
Are Non-Christians allowed to come to this event?
This is a free screening and anyone is allowed to come. In fact, we would encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about Canada's Indian residential school history to come. We just ask that if you come, that you will:
